Product Description

Derlotuximab is a recombinant human monoclonal antibody engineered as a targeted therapy for glioblastoma (GBM) and other solid tumors. It is designed to specifically bind to an intracellular antigen—DNA/histone (H1) complexes—that becomes exposed in the necrotic core of aggressive tumors. This unique targeting strategy allows the antibody to deliver a therapeutic payload (such as a radioactive isotope) directly to the tumor site, sparing healthy tissues. It has been investigated in clinical trials, including advanced phases, for the treatment of recurrent or newly diagnosed GBM.

Function

DNA/histone (H1) complex, a component of chromatin that is normally sequestered inside the nucleus of healthy cells. In rapidly growing tumors like GBM, inadequate blood supply leads to central necrosis (cell death). During this process, nuclear membranes rupture, releasing DNA and histone proteins (particularly histone H1) into the extracellular space of the necrotic tumor core.
