Atinumab is a human monoclonal antibody engineered to specifically target and neutralize the Reticulon-4 (RTN-4) protein, also known as Nogo-A. RTN-4 is a critical inhibitor of neuronal regeneration and axonal growth within the central nervous system (CNS). By binding to RTN-4, Atinumab effectively blocks its inhibitory action on neurons. This neutralization is intended to promote axonal sprouting and neuronal plasticity, facilitating nerve repair and functional recovery after CNS injuries.
