Product Description

Enfortumab vedotin is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) approved for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma. It consists of a fully human monoclonal antibody linked to a potent cytotoxic payload, monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE), via a protease-cleavable linker. Enfortumab vedotin functions as a targeted delivery system for chemotherapy. The antibody component specifically binds to Nectin-4 on cancer cells, leading to ADC internalization. Inside the cell, the linker is cleaved, releasing MMAE, which disrupts microtubule networks, inhibits cell division, and induces programmed cell death.

Function

Nectin-4, a type I transmembrane cell adhesion protein belonging to the Nectin family. Nectin-4 is a tumor-associated antigen that is highly expressed in a majority of urothelial carcinomas as well as in other solid tumors such as breast, lung, and pancreatic cancers. In normal adult tissues, its expression is generally low and restricted (e.g., to the skin, bladder, and esophagus). The high and prevalent expression of Nectin-4 on urothelial cancer cells makes it an ideal target for ADC therapy.
