Lixudebart is a humanized immunoglobulin G1-kappa (IgG1κ) monoclonal antibody that specifically targets the Claudin-1 (CLDN1) protein. As an IgG1 isotype, it is engineered to potentially engage immune effector functions such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Claudin-1 is a tight junction protein often dysregulated in certain cancers and liver diseases. By binding to CLDN1, lixudebart is designed to modulate its function, potentially disrupting cancer cell signaling, viability, or intercellular adhesion. It is being investigated as a potential therapeutic agent for CLDN1-expressing cancers, with a particular focus on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other solid tumors.
