Product Description

Oxelumab (also known as R4930 or huMAb OX40L) is a human monoclonal antibody of the IgG1-kappa isotype that specifically targets OX40 ligand (OX40L, also known as CD252 or TNFSF4), a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. By binding to OX40L, oxelumab blocks its interaction with its receptor OX40 (CD134) on activated T cells, thereby inhibiting the co-stimulatory signal that promotes T-cell survival, proliferation, and cytokine production. This mechanism aims to dampen pathogenic T-cell responses in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.

Function

OX40 ligand (OX40L, CD252, TNFSF4) is a type II transmembrane protein expressed on antigen-presenting cells (e.g., dendritic cells, B cells, macrophages), endothelial cells, and some activated T cells. Its binding to OX40 (CD134) on activated CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells delivers a potent co-stimulatory signal that enhances T-cell clonal expansion, survival, memory formation, and cytokine production.
