Product Description

Quetmolimab is a humanized IgG2 kappa monoclonal antibody that specifically targets chemokine ligand 1 (CX3CL1, also known as fractalkine). By binding to CX3CL1, it blocks the interaction between this soluble or membrane-bound chemokine and its receptor CX3CR1, thereby inhibiting the chemoattraction and adhesion of immune cells (such as monocytes and T cells) to sites of inflammation. This mechanism is being investigated for the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis.

Function

CX3CL1 (Fractalkine), is a unique chemokine that exists in both soluble and membrane-bound forms. It plays a key role in leukocyte trafficking and adhesion, particularly under inflammatory conditions. Its receptor, CX3CR1, is expressed on monocytes, NK cells, and cytotoxic T lymphocytes. By neutralizing CX3CL1, quetmolimab aims to reduce the recruitment and retention of these immune cells in inflamed tissues, thereby dampening chronic inflammation and potentially slowing disease progression.
