Daratumumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets the CD38 protein and is a cornerstone therapy for multiple myeloma. Marketed under the brand name Darzalex®, it was the first CD38-directed antibody approved for this disease. It is used across multiple lines of treatment, from newly diagnosed to heavily relapsed/refractory myeloma, both as a monotherapy and in combination with standard regimens (such as immunomodulatory drugs, proteasome inhibitors, and corticosteroids). Its approval has significantly improved response rates and survival outcomes for patients.
