Landogrozumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize myostatin (GDF8), a negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth. By binding to myostatin, it blocks its interaction with the activin type II receptor (ActRIIB), thereby aiming to promote muscle hypertrophy and prevent muscle loss. It has been investigated in clinical trials for conditions involving muscle atrophy and wasting, such as sarcopenia in older adults and cachexia associated with cancer.
